The man has his own line of shoes, a rap career, a filmography including the Warner Brothers hit Space Jam!, and is without a doubt the most acclaimed basketball player of his generation. With 2 Olympic Gold medals, 6 NBA Champion and 5 MVP titles at the top of his myriad accolades, it’s no surprise that Michael Jordan was declared ESPN’s athlete of the century (and second only to Babe Ruth on the AP list).

Air Jordan became famous for his game but popular for his quirky abilities as well; he can shoot a slam dunk from the freethrow line. He began his professional career by signing on with the Chicago Bulls after a successful career as a Tar Heel at UNC Chapel Hill basketball legends .

Michael Jordan is one of the best defensive basketball players of all time, but he is not a one trick pony. He left the NBA in the 93-94 season for a run at professional baseball, but returned to the Bulls in 95 to lead the team to the 1996 championsip – a title they managed to hold on to for 2 more years.

The man tried retiring again in1999, but just couldn’t stay away; he signed a 2-year contract with the Washington Wizards in 2001. Today he is part owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, helping to lead other players to a career full of highlights like his own:
